About DDL

Danca Da Liberdade is a capoeira group from Rio de Janeiro led by Mestre Guimba. Based in South London we have capoeira classes for adults in Kennington, West Norwood, Dulwich and Croydon and children's capoeira classes in Dulwich, West Norwood, Kennington and Clapham.

Capoeira Performances

The capoeira group Danca Da Liberdade regularly performs in south London and across the UK. As well as capoeira shows, we also perform Afro-Brazilian dances including Maculele, Samba and Bale-Afro. For more information and bookings please contact us.

Capoeira Workshops

Danca Da Liberdade has extensive experience organising capoeira workshops in schools. We currently work closely with Key-stages 2-6 and are extending our work with Key-stages 7-12. Danca Da Liberdade also deliver corporate and team building workshops.

Capoeira Classes for children and adults

Danca Da Liberdade run capoeira classes for adults and children from beginners to improvers and advanced levels. Our classes are run from our school in Streatham, South London with other classes run in Kennington and Bridport.

Children's Capoeira Classes in London

Childrens capoeira classes are run during term times. If you want to try before signing up you can pay £7 for a single class.

Courses & Events

Summer School

During the summer holidays, UINCAP Capoeira Federation runs the Capoeira Summer School from children aged 7 - 12 years old.

During the course children will get to try:

Capoeira
Acrobatics
Instruments and Singing
Drawing and Painting
Instrument and Costume-Making
Participate in a performance at the end of each week

Our Capoeira Summer School for 2017 has been run.

Batizado

Every year, students from all Danca Da Liberdade classes come together to take part in the Batizado (grading ceremony).

The weekend-long event includes the grading ceremony when students are called one by one to play against a capoeira mestre or professor, a day of workshops delivered by specially invited capoeira mestres from Brazil and performances by expert capoeiristas.

Venue Hire

We have a range of halls and rooms available for hire at the Streatham Capoeira Centre and the Kennington Park Centre. Suitable for dance, martial arts, meetings and rehearsals. Contact us to find out more.

Kennington

Main Hall:
£42 per hour (£35 for regular block bookings over 3 hours/week)

Small Hall:
£35 per hour (£25 for regular block bookings over 3 hours/week)

Streatham

Main Hall:

Studio:
